Why you do not lose weight?

So finally you are determined to lose weight and you stick to your fat free diet and consistent exercise.
But somehow you have the feeling that you are not shedding as much weight as you should have. Well you may be right. Losing weight is not only a change in diet or regular workout schedule; it's a change in life style.

Many people believe that a perfect diet is a way to lose weight.
What they fail to realize is that the human body is very adaptive. When you go on a fat and carbohydrate free diet, for a while it works fine, your body burns a bit of fat, but mostly it's the excess water that goes out of your body. And the moment you shift back to regular diet, you body tends to accommodate more fat than before.
In fact, then the fat and cabohydrate intake of your body reduces your body feels that it is going in a state of starvation and the metabolic activities drop. You guessed it right; this means that your body will burn less food to provide you with the helpful energy you need for your daily activities.
The trick of losing weight through diet is not to cut down on all food, but to cut down on selective foods, not completely stop it though. This means an increase in your intake of fruits and vegetables and reducing sugar, carbohydrates and excess fat. But contrary to traditional beliefs, you can treat yourself to a few serving of steak or the food you like every once in a while. Try to increase your workout schedule to burn off the extra calories that you will gather.

Another important factor that you will need to consider if you are not losing weight the way you need to, is whether you are varying your food intake.
As you age, your body needs less food to support the same work you are doing. In most of the time, we over look this fact and continue consuming the same amount of food that we usually do. So part of that food is burnt to give the energy to do work, while the remaining portion is converted to fat.
So to lose weight effectively you will need to monitor the quantity of food you are eating as well, and reduce it over the years. Remember to consider the season factor. This means that during winter your body needs more energy to keep you warm, so a slightly more food intake during winter is necessary.

Finally, losing weight to a great extent depends on time and your state of mind. A well motivated person who has a positive attitude towards weight loss is more likely to lose weight faster than others. Being in the positive state of mind, effective stress management, qualitative sleeps all complement fast weight loss. So if you eat a bit too much one day or miss working out once in a blue moon, think nothing of it.

However, if you have done all the right things with the right mindset and you are still not lose weight, it may be possible that you have harmful parasites that is stopping you from losing weight. If you suspect that this is the case, visit your health practitioner so that the appropriate tests and measures can be done.
